These fish are from a strain with larger-than-usual eye development (about 30%-40% larger) and with a variety of finnage types, some being long and flowing whilst others have short, fantail-type finnage. Silver-white metallic colouration, with red irises in many individuals. (Hong Kong 2003).

The fish at top left and top right have cone-shaped rather than spherical eyes, as called for by the standard. Having seen hundreds of globe eyes in Hong Kong over the past 22 years (as at 2003), this is the only strain seen by the Website Author in which some individuals have cone-shaped eyes; perhaps the standard should reflect this reality. (Hong Kong 2003).
