These fish are oriental twintails with long finnage, deeply forked tails and relatively shallow body depth, bearing the frilly nasal septa development.

On Chinese goldfish websites, you will see pompons with and without the dorsal fin, and with short fins (fantail type) and long fins (veiltail/ryukin type). The Western standard is for the fantail type.
